Challenge: how do you weave a foundation of moneyless wealth that creates a culture of stewardship that’s able to receive a flow of traditional forms of money, without allowing itself to become disrupted when the money finally arrives?
It’s a good thing for you that we have taken care to publish our work openly (much of it posted to Substack), and that serves our invitation to incorporate within your life so you might improve upon it - nobody in their right mind would adopt a solution that hasn’t been battle-tested.
To that end, we have built systems, tools, and collaborations to expand the realm of these benefits in the event you are interested in creating something that is sustained over the course of years and even decades.
All of the examples in the prior eight articles are illustrations of wealth that flow around us, provided we have the right mindset to recognize it and weave them into our fabric of community, but we need to go a little bit further:
We also need to honor and protect these forms of wealth when it encounters a flow of money so the cultural values are not disrupted.
Civilization is warmer than we think, and it isn’t warm because famous people made it that way.
We don’t really need them.
It’s warm because generation after generation relied upon ordinary people to leave behind tools, skills, traditions, friendships, neighborhoods, machines, bookshelves, workshops, recipes, skateparks, and opportunities that continue radiating long after they’re gone.
The future begins when people decide it’s time to keep tending the fire.
And if you look around and realize you’re already doing some of these things with the people around you, I have some good news:
You don’t need to build a halo. You’re already standing in one, and that’s the best surprise ending of all.
